The Small Business Service (SBS) has a clear purpose and vision - we want to accelerate the drive to make the UK the best place to start and grow a business by 2005. We want:
The SBS website provides the public, researchers, the media and policy makers with information about who we are and what we are doing.
Regionally, the SBS is represented by small teams who currently have responsibility for the contractual and performance aspects of the Business Link network and for the delivery of the DTI's Grant for Research & Development for SMEs. Details of the Grant for Research & Development (the DTI's enhancement to the original SMART scheme) can be found at
